Shadow Diamond: Noir

Shadow Diamond: Noir review

Shadow Diamond: Noir is High 5 Games' film-noir spin on its Shadow Diamond slot, set against a city skyline at night, with a glamorous blonde, a man in a dark suit and cut gems on the reels. It pays on 50 fixed lines across 6 reels and 4 rows, and the rules screen in the demo lists a 96.5% RTP. SlotCatalog and VegasSlotsOnline rate the volatility as low and date the release to 13 November 2019. Both bonus features live on the first three reels: Free Games symbols start 7 free games with Super Stacks, and Pick Bonus symbols open a pick round with 15 diamonds. Use the demo on this page to see how often those symbols line up before you decide whether to play for real money. Demo results are for practice only and do not predict real-money outcomes.

Features & bonus round

• Key specs:
• Provider: High 5 Games
• Release date: 13 November 2019 (SlotCatalog, VegasSlotsOnline)
• RTP: 96.5% (game rules)
• Volatility: low (SlotCatalog, VegasSlotsOnline)
• Grid: 6×4
• Paylines: 50 fixed, line pays from the leftmost reel
• Free Games: 7, no retrigger
• Pick Bonus: 3 picks from 15 diamonds
• Max win: not stated in the game rules
• Theme: film noir, a city at night, a glamorous couple and gems
• Wild: substitutes for symbols to complete wins on the 50 lines. Six Wilds on a line are the top line win in the paytable (1,000, against 150 for six of the blonde, the best-paying character).
• Free Games: 3 Free Games symbols in any position on reels 1, 2 and 3 award 7 free games. The symbol appears only on those three reels. The free games use different reels, play the same lines at the same bet per line, and cannot award extra free games.
• Super Stacks: during the free games the reels hold stacks of symbols. At the start of each free game the stacks turn into one of five symbols (the blonde, the man in the suit, or the blue, green or pink gem), and every stacked position on a reel becomes the same symbol.
• Pick Bonus: 3 Pick Bonus symbols in any position on reels 1, 2 and 3 start a pick round with 3 picks and 15 diamonds. Each diamond reveals either 1x to 10x the total bet or a 2x or 3x multiplier on everything won in the round plus 1 more pick. The round ends when no picks remain.
• Line rules: wins pay left to right on adjacent reels from the leftmost reel, and only the highest win is paid on each line.
• In the demo: the rules screen on this page is version 2.0, dated 31 August 2020, and the default demo bet is 1.00.
• Compared with Alexander's Conquest: both are High 5 Games slots on 6 reels, but Shadow Diamond: Noir pays on 50 fixed lines with a 96.5% RTP, while Alexander's Conquest uses 4,096 to 1,000,000 ways at 96.0%.

Shadow Diamond: Noir suits players who like classic line slots with two simple bonuses and the steadier rhythm of low volatility. Both features need their symbols on the first three reels, and the free games cannot be retriggered, so the bonus is short at 7 spins and Super Stacks do most of the work in it. The rules do not state a max win, so treat big-win claims with care. Try the free demo first, and set a budget before playing for real money.
