Legacy of Dead

Legacy of Dead review

Legacy of Dead is Play'n GO's 2019 follow-up to Book of Dead, and it keeps the same Egyptian tomb setting, 5x3 reels and 10 paylines. Horus, the Pharaoh, Anubis and Tutankhamun are the premium symbols, with the 10-to-A card ranks as low pays. The difference shows up in the bonus round: instead of one expanding symbol for the whole feature, each retrigger hands you another one, so in theory the whole paytable can end up expanding.

Features & bonus round

• Key specs:
• Provider: Play'n GO
• Release date: 9 October 2019
• RTP: 94.51% listed (other versions exist)
• Volatility: high
• Max win: 5,000x the bet
• Grid: 5x3, 10 paylines
• Bet range: 0.01 to 100
• Mechanics: wild/scatter symbol, expanding symbols, free spins, gamble
• Wild/scatter: one symbol substitutes for all pay symbols and also triggers the bonus. Three, four or five of them pay an instant 2x, 20x or 200x the bet before the free spins start.
• Free spins: the feature starts with 10 free spins. A random pay symbol is chosen as the special expanding symbol; when enough of it lands, it fills its reels and pays on all 10 lines, even on reels that are not next to each other.
• Retriggers: every retrigger picks one more expanding symbol, up to all 9 pay symbols. This is the main difference from Book of Dead, where the expanding symbol stays the same.
• Line wins: low card symbols need 3 of a kind from the leftmost reel, premiums pay from 2. Five Tutankhamun symbols pay 500x the bet.
• Gamble: after a base game win you can try a colour or suit guess to double or quadruple it.

Legacy of Dead suits players who already like Book of Dead and want a bonus round that can snowball through retriggers. Volatility is high and most of the 5,000x potential sits in the free spins, so try the free demo on this page to see how rarely the feature comes before you play for money.
